A pleasant 115 miles drive through the Kennet Valley and over the Berkshire Downs, starting and finishing in Royal Wootton Bassett, with a lunch halt at the West Berkshire Classic Vehicle Show.
Valleys and Villages Classic Tour – Supplementary Regulations

- Start and finish – Royal Wootton Bassett Rugby Football Club, 1.5m from Junction 16 of the M4 on the B4042, OS map 173 ref 070 841, what3words – atlas.activity.started
- The event will be run under the National Competition Rules of Motorsport UK, these Supplementary Regulations and any other written instructions issued by the organisers.
- An MSUK Certificate of Exemption no 205690 has been issued.
- The event is open to all vehicles produced before 1986 and any other vehicles at the organisers’ discretion.
- The maximum number of entries is 70, the minimum 40. Should the minimum number not be reached, the organisers reserve the right to cancel the event and return any entry fees received.
- The event is open to any person holding a current UK driving licence.
- The event is a touring assembly and comprises a route of approximately 115 miles, going north from the start and then east, along the southern side of the Lambourn Downs, to a lunch halt at Newbury Showground, returning in the afternoon by way of the Kennet Valley, the Vale of Pewsey and then south of Swindon to Royal Wootton Bassett.
- The route will be defined in a road book using ‘Tulip’ diagrams of junctions at specific mileages, supplemented with written instructions. The road book will also contain a set of OS map extracts defining the route. A map of the route will also be displayed on the official noticeboard.
- Event programme – Signing on will be from 9.00 with tea/coffee and a breakfast roll (any special dietaryrequirements to be pre-ordered). There will be no drivers’ briefing but an official notice board will bedisplayed, and crews have the responsibility to ensure that this is read and noted.
- First car will depart at 10.00 and return around 16.00.
- The event is not timed other than a specified finish time for the convenience of the caterers, and no element of speed or timing will be considered as part of the event. There may be passage controls.
- Entrants should satisfy themselves that their insurance covers them for touring assemblies and will be required to sign a statement to that effect.
- All vehicles will be required to have a current V5 registration document and, where appropriate, a current MOT test certificate.
- Entry fee – £100 per car (crew of 2), discount of £5 for DDMC members, additional passengers £25 each. Payment by BACS, or by cheque. Entry fees will be refunded in full for entries withdrawn before 13th July. Entries withdrawn after this date will be refunded less a £25.00 administration fee.
- Entries open with the publication of these regulations and will be acknowledged by email. Entries close on 20th July.

- Entry fee includes – event entry, roadbook, rally plate, refreshments at the start, entry to lunch halt, and a hot evening meal.
- Participating vehicles will be identified by vehicle registrations and a rally plate, supplied by the organisers, which should be displayed in a prominent forward-facing position.
- A number of food and drink vendors will be present at the lunch halt, alternatively participants may wish to bring their own picnic.
